This patent issue introduces a fast
detection and compensation algorithm for local and global illumination
changes such as shadows. The algorithm operates in the YUV color space
straight away while still having similar properties as much more time
consuming algorithms operating in more sophisticated colorspaces such as
HSV color space. In this way time consuming color space transformations
can be avoided. A possible application is the real-time shadow detection
and compensation in virtual video conference systems. |
